Death is not the end

When God created mankind, He did not create him to die. He created him in his image, to live eternally as we see in Genesis 1:26.
In Genesis 2:17 we see that God told Adam that "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."

When Adam and Eve sinned by disobeying what God had told them, they immediately died spiritually. It is this spiritual death that began the process of physical death in their lives.

If we fast forward to the New Testament, we notice that the Lord Jesus Christ never described a person as dead but asleep. This shows us clearly that there is another life that begins when a person dies.

In the bible, we see numerous examples both in the Old and New Testament of people who were resurrected back to life even after death ( Please read Acts 9:36, 1 Kings 17:17-24 or John 11). Hence, death is not an end but the beginning to eternal life.

The bible clearly says that those who have a relationship with Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour, will be resurrected to live with Him eternally after death.

However, to those who have not come to receive Him in their lives, they will be resurrected unto eternal judgement and will be thrown into the Lake Fire along with Satan ( Please read Revelations 20).

Hence, let us evaluate ourselves and make sure that we have received the gift of eternal life, Christ Jesus.
